FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When do I need to arrive?
Conference registration is open from 3:30 - 6:45 pm on Friday and 8:30 - 9:00 am on Saturday. Please arrive in plenty of time to register.
Saturday: conference starts at 9:00 am at Arrow on Swanston
Sunday: bus tours leave from the Old Melbourne Gaol, 377 Russell St, Melbourne (one block from the conference venue). Check your lanyard for which tour you are on:
Melbourne early years tour leaves at 9:00 am
West tour #1 leaves at 9:00 am
South-east Melbourne tour leaves at 9:10 am
West toy #2 leaves at 9:40 am
Don't be late as the buses won't wait!
Is food included?
There is no food provided during the opening ceremony. Please eat dinner either before or after the ceremony. Lunch will be provided at the venue on Saturday and Monday along with fruit and snacks. For those going on the bus tour, lunch and snacks are also provided. No food is provided at the toy fair.
Where are the social events?
You need a separate ticket to attend the social events
Saturday night dinner and awards night starts at 6 pm at Captain Melville, 34 Franklin St, Melbourne ( two blocks from the conference.
Sunday bowls and BBQ starts at 5 pm at the City of Melbourne Bowls Club, Flagstaff Gardens, Dudley Street, West Melbourne. If you are on the bus tours you will be dropped off at the bowls club.
Monday walking tours start at 6 pm at Federation Square. Groups will leave from the conference venue between 5:30pm and 5:45pm
Can children attend the conference?
Babies under 12 months or still being breastfed may attend the conference events held at Arrow on Swanston. Unfortunately, no babies or children can attend the bus excursions on the Sunday.
At the Toy Fair, babies under the age of 1 year may be permitted if contained in a pram or suitable harness.
Is there parking at the venue?
We recommend you take public transport to the conference if possible.
There is some parking available at the hotel at a cost of $15 per day (validation is required by the hotel reception to get this rate). Entry to the carpark is via Cardigan Terrace, either from Victoria or Swanston Streets.
